 St Alban’s Episcopal Church Bolivar, Missouri Monday, November 28, 2022 Advent – week 1 Advent Wreath-making Yesterday those who needed new Advent candles for already-existing wreaths got some, and those who wanted to make a new one, did -If you need the pink and purple taper candles, we still have a couple of sets. We also have a set of red large candles for anyone who might want those. Mother Cathy will be at church Tuesday and Wednesday so just stop by. We also still have plenty of the Advent booklets for families – Pick up enough for each member – At least a couple of families used them last night and found them good for discussion –      Why a wreath at all? Well, you don’t have to use one, after all. There are other ways to make the time between now and Christmas. But if you do, and if you light it after dark in a darkened room, you will see, week by week, as you light the second and third and finally the fourth candle, the gathering of light – the brightening of the darkness, the expanding of your awareness that we are moving towards the celebration of the true Light who has enlightened everyone. It is hope made visible…        |
